Leash Off,
Stay Awhile

Sniff is a boutique dog hotel built for city pups with standards. Thoughtful care, beautiful spaces, and a team that treats your dog like the VIP they are.

Our Story

Sniff was founded to reimagine what dog boarding could be and to raise the standard for dog care in Portland. We believed it was possible to create a place where passionate, experienced people care for dogs with genuine love and respect, while offering a boutique experience that’s not just functional and comfortable, but beautiful, inviting, and thoughtfully designed.

Today, Sniff is known as a trusted dog hotel in Portland, OR, offering professional dog care for city pups who deserve more than a kennel. At our core, we celebrate the bond between people and their dogs, and our guiding principle is simple: to love and care for your pup as unconditionally as they love us.

Whether it’s a weekend hotel stay, dog daycare in Beaverton, or something as simple as a nail trim or spa visit, every service is delivered with consistency, calm, and attention to detail. Your dog will always be treated like one of our own.

Welcome to the Sniff family.

City of Noses

We love pets. We love people. We love Portland.
Honestly, what’s not to love?

City of Noses is Sniff’s first full-time collaboration project, created to support the well-being of Portland’s pets and the people who adore them. After more than a decade of caring for local pups, this is our way of giving some of that love back.

Throughout the year, we partner with Portland pet organizations doing meaningful work in our community. Each locally inspired collection helps support real dogs, real people, and real needs.

Good design. Good dogs. Good cause.

“Our dogs never come home stressed after staying at Sniff”

We have been taking our dogs to Sniff Dog Hotel since they opened 16 years ago. We had just moved to Portland, and I had been looking for a good place where I would feel comfortable boarding our dogs. I am pretty neurotic about our dogs, so I needed to find a place that checked all the boxes. It was not until I visited Sniff Dog Hotel that I knew I had found the perfect place! First of all, it is very secure. We have sighthounds who can be flight risks, so that is important to me. The kennel rooms are clean, spacious and quiet.  All the larger kennels have webcams...

“Treat all dogs like family”

Our dog is delighted every visit to Sniff for daycare, P.E. Class (play and enrichment) and her overnight vacations. The play groups are organized perfectly based on size and energy level. Our little one loves playing with dog friends, doing activities like skateboarding and hurdles.. most of all, she loves the amazing Sniff team who treat all the dogs like family. Thank you!

“She made a lot of friends while staying at Sniff”

Such a wonderful place for our dog Zhuri da 🐻, the company & employees that work there are very professional with tons of knowledge on dogs & their habits. Bear had social playtime with other dogs & was included in an obstacle course for extra stimulated fun. She made a lot of friends while staying at Sniff, I highly recommend this place
