Can people stay at your hotels?

You'd be surprised at how often we get asked this. Unfortunately, we're just for your pup.

Can I take a tour?

We offer in-person tours by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule your visit.

We have a virtual tour of our Portland hotel available here and our Beaverton hotel here.

How do I make a reservation?

Submit a request here, or call (503) 208-2366 for Portland or (971)-230-1874 for Beaverton.

Are your hotels secure?

We’re staffed 24/7/365. Our hotels also feature security, and smoke detection systems that alert police and fire departments in the event of an emergency.

What time is checkin and checkout?

Pups can be checked in anytime during business hours. Checkout time is noon, seven days a week. We offer a late checkout option for $20 after noon.

Do I need daycare reservations?

Yes, please call to book your pup. Also see daycare requirements below.

Daycare cancellation policy

We require 24 hours for daycare cancellations. No shows will be charged the full fee for the reservation. If you miss two appointments without notice, your future daycare reservations may be cancelled. A daycare package is required for all standing reservations.

What are your boarding/daycare requirements?

  • Completed paperwork. (submit here)

  • Veterinarian proof (emailed or submitted online) of vaccination for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Bordetella vaccination should be administered every 6 months and given a 7 day waiting period after the first administration or lapse in vaccination. Please note, some vets only administer this vaccine by request. For all other vaccinations, a 24-hour waiting period is required after the first administration. We also ask that you discuss Canine Influenza Virus with your veterinarian and consider vaccinating your pup based on their recommendation.

  • Guests must be at least 4 months of age.

  • Effective form of flea control.

  • Daycare guests must be spayed or neutered, unless under 7 months of age.

  • Guests who attend daycare and boarding pups that participate in playgroups will be required to attend a playgroup consultation.

Why the long waiting period for Bordetella?

Our 7-day policy ensures that guests with little or no immunity have not been exposed accidentally and infected with an illness while visiting their veterinarian to get vaccinated.

Do I bring my own dog food?

Yes. Sniff doesn't provide any meals, just treats. By request, we can prepare specialized meals, including cooking or thawing if required. In special cases, a $5 daily fee may apply.

Will you give my dog their meds?

Yes. We can administer any non-injectable medication.

Can I bring personal items for my dog's stay?

We provide the comforts of home including premium dog bedding and bowls. You're welcome to bring up to two small items, like your pup's favorite blanket or toy. Please leave crates and beds at home.

What's included in the daily rate for my dog?

We have several private room types that include cozy bedding and bowls for room service (prepared meals.) All rooms include playgroups for fun times and social interaction.

What's the difference between playgroups and private services?

Playgroups are group play sessions with other boarding pups that have similar size, temperament and personality.

Private services are reserved for pups who require one-on-one attention. If your pup is less social, intact or otherwise prefers the company of kind-loving humans, private services may be the right fit!

Your pup is assigned a boarding service routine based on our playgroup consultation. Alternatively, private services can be requested, but can only be provided for pups boarding in our Treehouse, Penthouse or Family suites.

What if my dog doesn't play well with others?

They are welcome to stay in our Treehouse, Penthouse or Family Suites for added privacy, ventilation and for extra peace and quiet. They will receive private services and receive special one-on-one care from our Sniff staff with three outings throughout the day to stretch their legs.

Do you accept intact males and/or female pups in heat?

Yes. For the safety of our other guests, unaltered dogs are required to stay in Treehouse, Penthouse or Family Suites for added privacy, ventilation and to keep other guests comfortable. For females in heat, an additional $35 per day fee applies for extra cleanup.

What do I need to know about booking over the holidays?

For best availability, we recommend reservations be made well in advance. Similar to a human hotel, Sniff utilizes holiday/peak period pricing. There is a $10 peak season surcharge per dog per night* as outlined here. *25% off additional pup's in same family in same room still applies.

We require a 3-night minimum stay for holiday reservations.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

For HOLIDAY* reservations, please notify us of your cancellation 10-days in advance.

Reservations cancelled 2-9 days prior to check-in result in a one-night charge, per guest, to the card on file. Reservations cancelled less than 48 hours prior to check-in, will result in 100% of the reservation total being charged to the card on file.

For NON-HOLIDAY reservations, please notify us of your cancellation 48 hours in advance. Reservations cancelled less than 48 hours prior to check-in, result in a one night charge, per guest, to the card on file.

*HOLIDAYS - Independence Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas
Please note that package credits cannot be used towards cancellation penalty fees
